Martial Arts History Museum: 201 N. Brand Blvd., B100, Glendale, CA 91203
The Martial Arts History Museum presents a new quarterly gathering for women warriors, martial artists, heads of systems and schools, fight and stunt performers and coordinators, teachers, historians, scholars, journalists and those carrying forward warrior and martial traditions.
Across cultures and centuries, women fought, commanded, protected, healed, strategized, taught, resisted, and survived.
Now we add to this history.
Each gathering will explore extraordinary women whose warrior histories have been overlooked, minimized, mythologized, or forgotten.
But we are not stopping with history.
We will also discuss what some of challenges women continue to face in Indigenous representation, martial arts, leadership, recognition, access, authority, aging, visibility, and traditionally male spaces.
This is history, but it is also conversation, community, and the documentation of the women making warrior history right now.
Warrior women are not relics of the past.
We are still here.
We are still training.
We are still leading.
And we are still making history.
