The Warrior Women Exhibit at The Martial Arts History Museum

The Martial Arts History Museum opened in 1999 in Glendale, California by President Michael Matsuda. Matsuda’s diverse background in media, design and finance set the stage for what is now an internationally lauded institution, which celebrates cultural diversity in the martial arts community.
With approximately 25,000 annual visitors and a 1400% increase in overall memberships, the museum has seen a 1000% increase in gross sales and 100% increase in donations, year over year.
The Warrior Women Exhibit is the first of its kind, presented by Curator Michelle Manu, Kumu Lua and 10th Degree Black Belt, a Champion for Women.
The exhibit honors the global legacy of women fighters, guardians and leaders across cultures. From ancient martial heroines to today’s champions, the exhibit highlights strength, resilience and cultural heritage.
